Today my wonderful Aunt took us out snowshoeing. She’s totally my favourite and I know she’s reading this, but I’m not just saying it either
. Very much like me!
We woke up early and had a heartier breakfast since we were going to get some exercise in.

1/2 cup egg white, 1/2 avocado, 1 whole wheat english muffin, 2 ham discs, some fried potatoes, salsa and hot sauce. Fuel!

This was my husbands second time snowshoeing, but his was under different army training related circumstances!
It was tough! I had to stop a few times at this very hilly part, but it was absolutely beautiful. Gets your heart racing, my calves were burning most of the way up!
We were out for about an hour and a bit. My calorie calculator says I burned about 650-700 calories for my weight. Which is pretty awesome for a short-er workout. I am already feeling sore, and I know I’ll really be feeling it tomorrow.
My kinda workout, switches it up a bit and the beautiful views and sunshine are more than worth it.
My aunt took us out for lunch at the little seafood place, which was great.
Plus your metabolism runs a little higher for a while after a good workout, so I didn’t do anything detrimental. It was a really nice treat, and super tasty!

After our hike we went down to this lookout point a little bit further down the mountain, you can see the cloud covering the city. Gorgeous!
We headed home, grabbed some groceries (I scored a TON of cheap chicken breast that I portioned out and froze) and now I relax. Dinner is a lighter tomato soup. Then back to the grind.
This week I have plans to stay hardcore on track. The snowshoeing really sets the tone for my week. Eating well and getting some cardio/walking in. Woo!

Snowshoeing is awesome
My hubby and I took it up this winter and are loving it. Looks like a beautiful day.
It was! and it was so warm!
Snowshoeing looks like so much fun! I read in a magazine that it burns a ton of calories, like you mentioned. I’ve tried snowboarding and I SUCK at that, so snowshoeing sounds a lot better!
Yeah I have crap balance, so snowboarding and skiing is out. But with snowshoes you get ski poles! lol. SO MUCH BALANCE!
That looked like so much fun! We finally got snow back today (you wouldn’t think that would be a problem in Ontario, Canada, but it has been!). I can’t wait to go out and play in it too! Amazing view by the way!
We don’t have any snow anywhere else. Just on the mountain! It was actually colder in the city than it was on the mountain too!
I’m hours from snow, but may have to try this when I get in a little better shape. Sounds like a blast and a wonderful burn!
Seems like it was a nice workout! That view is stunning… Where was this at? And I’m not big of crab but that sandwich looks really good too. Haha!
And thanks for stopping by!
Cypress Mountain, Vancouver BC!
Gorgeous views, love the panorama photos! I’d never heard of snowshoeing but it sounds pretty fun! (Actually anything involving snow sounds pretty amazing to me
)
It looks like such a good time! I absolutely love hiking in the summer, and have definitely been struggling with what the heck to do in the winter… it never occurred to me to try to figure out snow shoeing! =D
Wow! That scenery blows my mind.
Also couldn’t help but think of that Portlandia couple that is obsessed with “getting the gear.”
